The rooms are clean and tidy but a little tired and due for a refurb/update. The staff were extremely friendly and keen to help where they could. The restaurant and bar were nice and the breakfast and bar food was very good.

Ideal location for NSBRC and M4 corridor.
The Car Parking Charge for Residents, whilst it's only £3, is unnecessary. I understand its to stop transient use of the car park.
Reception: Fully committed and friendly
ROOM: Spacious for the Money, a bit of wear in the bathroom [109] and fairly noisy due to passing traffic.
BAR: Very unpleasant experience. Lacking in staff creating long delay without a courteous welcome or apology. Really lacking customer service.
BREAKFAST: Fabulous crew working this area. GREAT SELECTION OF FOOD, Hot & Buffet.

Convenient Location, Friendly Service, but Room for Improvement
We stayed at this hotel as a family of 3 during the Christmas holidays. The location is excellent—close to London, right next to the highway in Swindon, with easy access to amenities like Costa and Greggs. Parking is spacious, free for hotel guests, and newly renovated with proper signage.
The check-in process was smooth, and we appreciated the complimentary cookies. The room was decent in size with all amenities, though the furniture might feel slightly outdated. However, the centrally controlled heating made the room uncomfortably hot, and opening windows wasn’t ideal due to highway noise. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable due to thin padding and hard bars, causing back pain. I requested an additional mattress layer, but what was provided seemed more like a mattress protector and didn’t resolve the issue. While we were provided with a sofa bed for our infant, a cot would have been a more suitable option.
Breakfast had good options, and the staff—especially Thomas—were outstanding, going the extra mile to serve coffee when machines broke down. The bar had plenty of drink and food options at fair prices. The hotel is child-friendly with ample high chairs and a welcoming atmosphere.
Overall, a good value-for-money stay, but the heating system and sofa bed comfort need improvement.

I booked the queen room for 2 nights and was a very good price arrived in the room and found hairs in bath and a dirty glass I spoke to the lovely reception staff and they immediately upgraded our room to a higher standard and also gave a free bottle wine the staff were brilliant resolving the situation as it was the cleaner that messed up definitely will come back the staff clavin and isabela are extremely friendly and helpful and professional and treated us like royalty brilliant staff members

Exceptional Customer Service by Clavin and Francila
I recently had the pleasure of staying at DoubleTree Swindon, and I must commend Clavin and Francila for their outstanding service. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and made me feel like the hotel was a second home.
Their warm smiles, genuine care, and attention to detail truly stood out. Whether it was handling requests promptly or simply checking in to see if I needed anything, their dedication to guest satisfaction was remarkable. It’s rare to come across individuals who take such pride in what they do.
Thank you, Clavin and Francila, for turning a regular stay into a memorable experience. Your kindness and professionalism are a credit to the DoubleTree team! I will definitely return and recommend this hotel to others.

They didn't ask about our food allergies, the beds were like marshmallows very uncomfortable, the waiting staff was rude and inconsiderate.

The Indian man on reception was extremely rude. we booked an event room and had disgusting service from a young Indian man on reception.
He was very unprofessional and came across as a bully coming across very argumentative I do not think he is in the right job with his negative attitude he unfortunately ruined our whole event due to to his a problem this is not our 3rd event booked with yourself and never again.

We were very excited for our stay at The Double Tree by Hilton Swindon .We were greeted at reception after a long drive by a nice lady(MS.Romi). She was very friendly and helpful, made a great first impression.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was very welcoming and friendly.

Awful Hotel, have stayed here a few times due to work. Have gotten food poisoning twice within a year. Once in January after eating the chicken, and again in October after eating the fish and chips.
When I complained in October the receptionist repose was “your work paid for the hotel, so what do you want us to do about the food poisoning?, we can’t refund you the money”.
Clearly they don’t understand how to prep food.
Futhermore I am yet to receive a follow up
Call on the food poisoning, or even a check up or apology since then.
Would never stay there ever again, and would discourage anyone from eating in the hotel too.

Great hotel for meeting and greeting, great location about halfway between London and Somerset. Easy to find and service by staff was excellent. I did not stay overnight. Hence, I could not rate the rooms, but from first impressions, I think they would have been up to scratch!

Beautiful lobby, very pleasant and modern looking. Rooms were a good size but mine looked a tad tired. That said, the bathroom was spacious, looked very modern and the toiletries looked premium. Great breakfast and evening meal. Decent bar area with plenty of space and seating.

Great place to have business meetings. Very comfortable and friendly staff. Professional meeting rooms and fantastic atmosphere. Staff are accomadating with drinks and food. Great menu with reasonable prices. Love this place and will use it as often as we can. I am happy to recommend to all businesses that are fussy about their souroundings and like great service.

After checking into my room i received a call from reception after about 30 mins by a not very friendly sounding gentlemen advising me to simply come to reception due to a problem . Once there I was told I was in the incorrect room. No apology or acknowledgement that this was there mistake. I was simply expected to move rooms which was not very convenient as I had unpacked and was under time pressure to get ready for a dinner reservation. This was of course their mistake. I had of course provided my name when I checked in and simply went to the room that I was given.
Unbeknown to me at the time, the incorrect room I was initially given was a room for a guest who had to pay on arrival whereas my room had already been paid for which I had explained when they initially asked for my card details. I would expect a hotel to know this when a guest checks in if the room has been aid for it not. They proceeded to send me to wrong room and had taken my card details but I was not aware they had attempted to take payment. Anyway after checking out I can now see I have a pending payment on my bank balance for £194 which relates the them initially giving me the wrong room which needed to be paid for. They totally failed to tell me this when they had called me to reception when telling me to move rooms. Yes the amount is pending and has not left my account but it still comes off my account balance in the meantime which doesn't allow me to use those funds whilst pending which will be for several days. I only know this because I called the reception team the evening of the day I checked out to ask why I have a pending payment and it was clear immediately this was due the mix up if the rooms which the lady explained was the reason. I am reasonable and appreciate this was an honest mistake and the lady who initially checked me in was very friendly. Overall I thought the handling of the hotels mistake after that however was very poor and there was a total lack of any accountability or communication. Especially by the man who called me
and summoned me to reception.

I've been going to this hotel for the past 6 years, maybe twice a year. First bad experience with room cleaning. Towels not changed. Cups not cleaned, just rinsed. Glasses not removed from room. Just a number of things that were always done in the past. Also not a warm welcome on arrival.
Lots of small things slipping amount to a slippery slope!

This hotel illustrates the ever increasing UK nickel-and-dime scheme with parking. The hotel that describes itself on its website as being "in the Wiltshire countryside" slips a parking fee onto its charges. This is especially galling since on my stay here in 2023 parking was free. Given its position in the "countryside" nearly all guests will arrive by car.

I booked a nice room (not standard) for my husband's birthday, everything was lovely apart from the actual bed. We barely could sleep the night, the bed was awfully uncomfortable, making jarring noises in every move. What is the hotel actual priority if not to provide a best night sleep for its customers? Something they should think about...

Another great stay at Doubletree, Swindon. I’ve said before on other review sites, the main stand out for this hotel is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Always a cheerful greeting from checking in, to checking out. Even the text messages after check in just to see if you are happy with everything. It’s the little touches that make you valued as a customer. Thanks again, Doubletree Swindon. Will see you soon!

There's not a lot of Hilton hotels in the English countryside, so using points here was a bit of a test. Swindon has a low crime rate, but STEAM is not in the best part of town (per locals) and it's not exactly near the hotel. It's obvious like most US Hilton brands that most of the clientele are on business.
The room was a good size for the money and the staff was extremely helpful. Parking was a little tight because of construction but other than that a very pleasant place to stay

My daughter got married here & whilst I cannot fault the wedding planners , food, bar & restaurant! Sadly the reception staff & their customer services were unprofessional & rude !! I spent almost 2 hours throughout the day & evening at reception trying to sort one mistake after another with the 4 bookings & problems with the rooms ( one being a family room with a pull out sofa as advertised that did not have a sofa in, nor was there an alternative ) ! I complained at the hotel , I then went through Hilton honours who said they would deal with the complaints giving me a reference number then completely ignoring my emails for 3 months now !!! There is so much more I could say but it would only fall on deaf ears Avoid Avoid Avoid if you want a stress free stay, yes problems arise anywhere you stay , it’s how they deal with it that counts .
